Jennifer Nuss’s work revolves around the female heroine, represented in many forms – proud, defiant, maddened, bored, alone – questioning womanhood and an individual sense of beauty and power. Working primarily on paper with drawings or prints, Nuss creates large-scale works that expose the nuances of these characters. She also explores movement through space and time, creating multiple layers of meaning and revealing the conflict via stop motion animation and builds puppets from her drawings and prints.
Nuss lives and works in New York City and was born in Brooklyn NY. Recently Nuss was a finalist for a New York Foundation for the Arts grant in film. Also recipient of Guggenheim Foundation award, Joan Mitchell Foundation award and a New York Foundation for the Arts grant in drawing.
PEEP is made possible in part through the generous support of the Brico Fund.
