A terrific first venture into the world of printmaking, screenprinting is an incredibly adaptive medium that can be utilized on a variety of substrates including paper, fabric, glass, and more. Beginners are welcome to attend this workshop to learn the basic techniques of screen printing, including burning an image of your design onto a screen, the photo emulsion process, and printing. Ink, screens, emulsion, and side-by-side instruction are provided for participants to learn this process.
About the Instructor | Monica Gorko is a multi-disciplinary artist originally from Los Angeles, CA. She earned a degree in Fashion Design from the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising in 2008. She is currently pursuing a degree in Art Education and Community Engagement from UW-Milwaukee. Monicaʼs interests include fiber arts, textile and pattern printing, drawing and mixed media art.
