Kate Zolandz
Artist in Residence
Kate Zolandz is a printmaker from the Milwaukee area. She graduated from the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design with a BFA in Printmaking in 2014. Wanting to stay a part of the printmaking community, she came across RedLine. Kate started as a printmaking shop monitor at RedLine for a year before becoming an artist in residence.
Kate’s work usually takes the form of relief printmaking, though she often uses screen printing and various forms of intaglio printmaking as well. While her work tends to be of human anatomy, the heart of her work is empathy: for herself and for others. She believes strongly in letting the creative process just happen, whatever form that may take, instead of dictating what it should do. When not making artwork, she enjoys maintaining and improving the RedLine print shop and interacting with the RedLine community.
